Save Energy. Save Money.

Take advantage of NYSERDA’s Home Performance with ENERGY STAR® program and cut your energy bills by hundreds—or even more

It all starts with a comprehensive home energy assessment. Have an energy efficiency expert recommend the best ways for you to stop energy waste and improve the comfort of your home. For most New Yorkers, the home energy assessment is free. Depending on your household income, you may be asked to pay for some or all of the cost of the assessment.

First, find a local participating Home Performance with ENERGY STAR contractor to work with. Then download the home energy assessment application, complete it and return it to NYSERDA. Once you receive your confirmation, call your contractor to set up your assessment.

Following your home assessment, you can qualify for a 10% cashback incentive and low-interest financing that make it easy to afford energy-saving improvements to your home. You can even pay for energy upgrades right on your utility bill, using the money you save on energy to cover most or all of the cost.

Income-eligible households can also qualify a grant of up to $5,000 to pay half the cost of their energy upgrades, available through Assisted Home Performance with ENERGY STAR. Your contractor can fill you in on the details.
